Prof Elisa Giaccardi

Elisa Giaccardi is Full Professor of Design at Politecnico di Milano, 2024 Ambassador of Italian Design in the World, and one of the 50 most influential women in tech in Italy (Inspiring Fifty Italy 2024).

Her international career spans five countries and 25 years of research at the intersection of design, technology, and post-humanist thought. In 2024, Giaccardi returned to Italy as a top scientist (“chiara fama”), appointed by the Rector of Politecnico di Milano, Donatella Sciuto. Throughout her career, she has co-founded and contributed to several interdisciplinary research and educational programs across the world. She currently directs Design Intelligences, a multispecies collective dedicated to addressing planetary challenges through more-than-human design.
