User Research
[ yoo-zer ree-surch ]User Research is the practice of learning about the people who will use a product of service. Some User Research focuses on understanding peoples' lives, needs, and contexts before designing anything. Another type of user research involves testing prototypes or existing designs to see how well they work for people.
The goal is to make decisions based on what you learn from real users and contexts, rather than making guesses. Often a User Research process will involve some other research approach, for example Ethnography. User Research is often a key part of projects or initiatives that are practising Human-Centered Design.
